Signpost - Ellingham and Kirby Cane

Activities and groups

There are many groups that meet regularly in our parishes. Here are details of those we know of. Please feel free to submit ideas and examples of what you enjoy in this area - we'd like to hear from you. Special events and dates will appear on the home page

Allotments

There used to be allotments on land owned by Ellingham United Charities, however demand for these declined and they were replaced by a playing field (1969). Times change, and with the new (21st century) came calls for the villages to again have allotments again. In 2011 the chairman of the parish council, Lawrence Cannard, approached Kirby Cane Charities and new allotments were created, this time in Newgate. The new allotments are proving very popular indeed.

For further details, see the Newgate Allotments web site or call Julie (Chair.) on 518327 or Graham (Secretary).
